Both AM and FM share the same frequencies. The approved band within the U.K. ranges from 40.660 to 41.000MHz
The chart shows the allocated frequencies in ascending order. There are several suppliers systems in general use and all use similar numerical sequences but do not correspond to a common number for all frequencies.
The recognised frequency indicator for this band is a green pennant (flag) attached to the transmitter arial and bearing the last three digits of the frequency with black or white numbers.
Beware of people quoting the two digit channel number when asked what frequency they are using. As the following chart indicates the numbers are random (apart from Ripmax) and do not always bear any relationship to the actual frequency, or even to each other.
The situation is made more confusing by certain crystals displaying the two digit code on the crystal tab and at the same time covering the actual frequency marking on the metal case.
The actual frequency marking can be discovered by carefully lifting the covering tab. If in doubt please check with your supplier and mark the correct frequency on each crystal.
If your club has a frequency meter this may be used to check the frequency.
Always quote the correct frequency, it may be your model that gets damaged!
